I don't know whether to smile or cry! They're so sweet and cute, but doesn't this mean someone dumped them? Or are these already part of your very extended "family," and we're smiling because of how cute these sleeping buddies are? Either way, adorable, for sure.

Laurie,

Initially, they were dumped, but I got them as kittens and they have grown up with our family. Sadly the one with color on her face Bacardi died this year from an illness no vet could stem. But the other one Kahuna is alive and well and lounging on our loveseat as I type this. There were a total of 4 kittens in this dumped litter, and if you go to the link here, you can see the kittens as they were about two months after I first got them. They were all pretty sick in the beginning

The box these two are in is just an empty one I put rags in, they just jumped in one day and settled down for a nap.

The picture and the caption are terrific! That makes a BIG smile!
LOL!!! How heartachingly sweet. BTW, what great names.

And sorry to be so nosey (sort of) about the story behind these sweethearts, but what happened to the two that didn't become part of your family? Or am I just dredging up bittersweet memories?
It's hard to know with your occupation, which as mama to all needy animals you meet with just as much hardship as happy rewards.

So bittersweet memories is the answer. I am sorry. I think I've expressed this before, Hissy. You must have a heart of gold and a stomach of iron. You're like the Lion, the TinMan and the Scarecrow all rolled into one, the answer to every kitty's wish. At least they knew your love before they had to go.

I always think of what Whiskers Mom said when Shredder passed, about each being in passing creating another star. It has made the night sky more beautiful and brings many I miss closer to me, and I remember them all far more often than I did before.

Boy - look at me, depressing everyone when you were trying to make us all smile!
