I lost my dear cat to feline leukemia. He died a peaceful death and I am so sad I can't properly articulate it.

However, I am considering getting another cat and it's only been 5 days since he passed. I feel guilty for this and wonder what your opinions are?

I am so sorry for your lost when i was little i was like 10 i lost my kittie boo that i had my whole life to it when she got diagnosed she lived a few more years with our care, but she waited for me to get home which was harder. After that we go 2 more kitties a year later, i was ready but it was money wise and about 5 years ago our dog died and about a week later we ended up buying 2, so i guess it all depends I think getting another animal helped me alot and i still have all the memories of the pets i lost i think it just helps with the process you know! I'm so sorry for your loss, but know that your baby wil be looking down on you

As for getting another, don't feel guilty. If you feel comfortable in getting another to help mend your broken heart then you get one

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, feline leukemia is one nasty disease, I'm glad she went peacefully.

As for getting another kitty, if you're ready then go ahead, there's always a kitty out there that needs a home, you might want to think about getting 2!

I'm so sorry for your loss, buffyfan. I'm glad that he was able to pass peacefully. Take some comfort in that you will see him again someday.

After I lost my Midnight I wrestled with the idea of whether or not to get another cat or two and decided not to. Three months later I was at the vet's office and saw a sign in the window for two four month old kittens (brother & sister) that needed a good home. I met them and brought them home the following week. Midnight has and will always hold a special place in my heart that can never be replaced. I think about her everyday and the two new furbabies have helped me to cope with her loss and in mending my broken heart.

I am so sorry for your loss, I too, just lost my dear Snow not quite 2 weeks ago, so I know how you're feeling. There are so many kittys who need homes, do not feel guilty, us cat lovers need them in our lives just as much as they need homes and people to love them.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I had to give my boy Sebastian peace on the 15th.

Your baby and my boy are crossing the Rainbow Bridge together.
