Hello, Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve been reading about flea control here as we just found out that our 3 mth old and 1 yr old have them. It could be that we just got the kitten two weeks ago (by the way, thanks soooo much for all the advice here on introductions – they loooovvvveee each other even after just 2 days when the kitten accidentally got out of his room –itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been a love fest ever since!)

Anyway, here is what we did:

1) Applied Advantage on them bought from the vet

2.) Applied Fleabuster on our carpets, also from the vet (I guess this is similar to Borax which I wish I had known sooner)

3.) Bought a flea collar, cut it up and put that in the vacuum bag

We vacuumed “prior†to applying the Fleabuster (as recommended) with the flea collar inside the bag. We have yet to vacuum after the application. However, after the first vacuuming, I didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t throw the bag out since I figured the flea collar in there will kill the fleas and I could just use the same bag for vacuuming the Fleabuster out (which I planned to do later on). I read in a few threads that I should I have thrown the vacuum bag out right away, even with the collar inside. It now creeps me out that they may be multiplying in there and Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m at work at the moment so I canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t throw it out right now –
! Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been 2 days since we vacuumed. Have I screwed this up?

TIA for your help!

I wouldn't get all worked up about it. It is best to throw the bag out immediately after vacuuming, but that can't be helped now. I would suggest that when you get home tonight you vacuum and throw it out when you are finished.
