My brother left two himalayan cats when he moved out of my mothers house. They are absolutely adorable and friendly and playful, but my my is not capable of taking care of them the way they need to be. If any one is interested please let me know.. I don't have much info on them.. they are about 4-5 years old.. were spayed, and declawed...but thats about all I know.

Justbran....please try to work with a rescue group to get these 2 cats placed. "free to a good home" isn't necessarily a good idea:

Welcome to TCS, JustBran!! I agree with TNR1 - a local rescue group is a much safer way to place those precious kitties. Bless you for taking on your brother's responsibilities and seeing those kitties safely re-homed.

I have an abused cat that I rescued from a sad situation - her original owner died and the cat was surrendered to the shelter and adopted by a well-meaning but alcoholic woman and her emotionally-messed-up kid. The kid was rough with the cat, and tormented her (as well as his numerous other small pets that wound up with broken legs before dying for unkown causes, all species, lizards, mice, rats, birds, all except his dogs) so the cat was declawed when she defended herself. And for at least 5 years, this cat was sprayed with water guns, shot with plastic pellets, and she would hide in a small cupboard under a bedroom closet until nightfall when the husband would be home and no shennanigans would occur. Then the kid got a weiner dog which the mother loves to baby, and baby talk it, and smother it in a way that the cat would never allow; and the dog was sicced on the cat, to flush her out from her sanctuary. I tried calling animal control, but there is no humane society to investigate and the AC and the deputies could do nothing to enter the house and do a well-check on the cat. years passed, but a miracle happened when the people moved from the state and the house didn't sell; we rent it from them, to make the mortgage payment for them till it sells (they are my husband's friends - not mine, not really). Using Hissy's guidance, I have been socializing this poor girl - she was doing great till the woman and her son came for a 10 day visit this summer. The poor baby - I consider her to be the same as a prisoner of war - held hostage, enduring so much, no hope, no safety. There was a suggestion of the people wanting her back, but I simply have threatened to call environmental health as the place had mice and rats till I tamed and brought in a feral cat, plus one of my best mousers, Cindy AND I found out that there is black mold - a landlord's worst nightmare. Sorry this is so long, but I know that you and your mother would never want such a fate for your cats; and I am sending {{{safe and happy rehoming prayers and vibes}}} your way! Susan
