Hi Everyone,

I have decided to not put Noel to sleep tomorrow. Thank you all so much again for sharing your stories. I am sure it was very painful to think about them. I decided I needed to know that there was nothing I could do for her. So I am taking her to see a cancer specialist that I was referred to by UC Davis. They squeezed her in today. I am hoping she can find some way to save my little girl. If in the end she can't, at least I know I have tried my best for Noel. Right now, I feel like I would be putting her to sleep based on non conclusive evidence. So please say a prayer for us today.

Thanks,
Terri

Of course Terri...
You have my support for your decision.

My kitties vet is a graduate of UC Davis.
The cancer specialist that they referred Noel to will be tops in the field.

Please update what you find out in this thread so that no one misses how you and your precious Noel are doing.

I am sending loads of calming, loving vibes to you both.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Lotsa vibes for you and sweet Noel. I hope the specialist is able to help her, but as you say, even if not, you will know you left no stone unturned. It's a tough, tough situation to be in. Stay strong for her, and know we're here holding you both in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Everyone,

First of all, you have brought me to tears with your kind words of encouragement and love. Thank you so much!!!!! I met with Dr Mona Rosenberg today. She was wonderful. She took her time to fully discuss everything with me. I was so grateful for that. Her position was to do an ultrasound of her abdomen to make sure no masses were present. They could feel her lymph nodes which she indicated that either they were fighting a bug of sorts or she had cancer. They did the ultrasound and no masses were noted but her lymph nodes were enlarged. They successfully aspirated her mass and that fluid has been sent off to the lab. Based on her symptoms the doctor strongly felt that Noel has lymphoma, like the other specialist suggested. However, that is a big however, the prognosis is pretty darn good! She said 75% of kitties diagnosed with lymphoma will go into remission. So I feel like I made the right choice. I even talked to her while we were alone in the room and asked her if she wanted to fight to live and she purred and talked back to me. I feel like I made the right choice. I promise to keep you posted on things. Right now she started her chemo and she seems to be doing ok with it. I syringe fed her tonight but I think she is feeling better because she seemed more hungry for it. I can only hope and pray she will get better. Lots of love and gratefulness to you all for everything!!!!!!!!
