Recently, I've noticed that Pippin is becoming a very spoiled little boy! There are certain things that he does in the mornings (thankfully not too early and I do get up at about 6am anyway) to wake me up! As soon as the alarm sounds to wake me, Pippin thinks that it is the alarm for me to get up and feed him (I used to have an alarm to train myself into remembering to feed him at specific times when he was little) so now when I don't immediatly get up and feed him he bites (not sore enough to break the skin but light enough to wake me up!) either my cheek or my chin and if I still don't get up, he'll stick his cold little nose in my mouth! Because Tony, my partner, never feeds him, he never gets to experience the cold nose of nibbles! He instead gets jumped on from the headboard or footboard so that he'll wake up and nudge me to get up - but usually he is already gone hours before! LUCKY MAN!

I know that this is "normalish" behaviour but what can I do to stop him from doing this to me every morning? He does sleep in the bed with me - usually curled up between Tony and I or between our pillows and has since he was 12 weeks old... We don't like to shut him out at night for various reasons - mainly because we now have to shut the door to the lounge because he terrorises the fish when the lights are off!

Any suggestions?

I feel your pain...Odo has his own creative methods for trying to wake me. He bites my head, usually lightly now, though initially it hurt! If that doesn't work, he grabs a mouthful of hair and pulls, using his paw for leverage. The only thing that helps is to ignore the behavior completely (though that usually results in a new idea of how to get me out of bed). I never get up if he's biting me--I just nudge him off the bed or out of biting range, and he usually goes back to sleep for a little while.

Gizmo bites my nose.

I roll over and dump her off my chest when she does this. As long as they don't break the skin, it's a love bite.

I tell Gizmo that I will get up when I am good and ready. She waits for me since she is a good girl, but can't seem to stop waking me too early each morning. She's just got to adjust to Daylight Savings Time.

If your little boy is really annoying your face, blow a jet of air into HIS face. He'll stop.

Chynna will position herself on the pillow next to me, put her paw out and grab my face to turn it towards her (thank God I cut her nails), and then proceed to lick my nose raw! I let her for a few minutes and then it starts to hurt, so I just pull the blankets up a bit and pull my head away an inch or two and resume sleeping. She tries to give more kisses, and I scritch her ears and chin, and she settles down and sleeps.
