Mom is retiring.......

She has worked at the same woman's clothing store since I was 5..and she is retiring from there this Saturday...........38 years...........I'm so happy for her, but right after Christmas, she will be moving to live with my sister in TN.....I'll miss her, but she'll be so happy!

Bittersweet huh.TN isn't that far away. You will get to visit often I ma sure! Congrats to you mom!

Retirement must be a mixture of feelings, everything changing. I hope she truly enjoys her retirement time. And when you go to visit her in Tennessee, you and Jerry can hop down to Birmingham and come see me and my babies, too!

Good for her! After 38 years, she deserves some R and R.

I hope the store gives her a great retirement party!!!

Susie, all I can say is...make sure she gets a hobby and soon! My mom is 76 and her hobby is to follow me around Asia, attending cat shows and going shopping...

Well, my sister suggested she move in with them to a warmer climate. I think it's my sister that might be stuck with Mom following her around 24/7! LOL Only good thing is my sister is retired too after working at Sears for 30 years!! LOLOL They can have fun together now!

My Mom retired in 1990 (only because her boss was retiring) after working for him almost 35 years. She was the office manager.

That's great for her Susie! You can have her take up knitting....it's quite COLD in Ohio, and she can start knitting her Grand-kitties some sweaters! I know Mr. Tiggy would look quite hansome in a sweater....and my girl Petals would look stunning in something pink!

Tell her to enjoy retirement & don't get too bored!

Congrats to her! My mom will be retiring after the first of the year, and unfortuately wont be moving away. I love her but she doesnt drive and my taxi service will be even more in demand now
