My gym is my treadmill at home. I have in the past burnt CS with yes DISCO!! And others with the Rolling Stones, Billy Idol-something that gets my heart pumping. I am not familiar with any newer (last 5 yrs or so) bands and such!!

I like anything with a distinct beat for working out. Then I can get into a rhythm/pace with the music.

So right now, my 15 minute (that I play twice as I need a larger SD card) PDA has:

Drive Me Crazy - B. Spears
Love at First Sight - Kylie Minogue
Take a picture - Filter
It's my life - No Doubt
It Just Takes Some Time - Jimmy Eats World

Once I get a larger card, maybe I'll through on some Madison Avenue, some 80s music, etc. I would go newer, but 1) I'm out of date with today's latest hits and 2) I stopped downloading music 2 years ago.

My list is:

Danity Kane
Buckcherry
Ciara
Hinder
JoJo
Jesse McCartney
Justin Timberlake
Eminem
JayZ
Kelly Clarkson
Ludacris
Pussycat Dolls

Thats just the 'general' list that I like to listen to, there are more, but thats what I listen to the most.

There is actually an art to picking music to work out by. The music should flow with the workout. You don't want it to be too fast otherwise you over work and can injure yourself, and at the same time you don't want it so slow that you aren't working to your ability. In addition to that you want the music to be slower to start during the warm up, a bit boppier during the work out and slowing down again towards the end during the cool down.

I had no idea that all music wasn't created equal when it comes to working out, but a friend of mine owns her own aerobics business and she explained the importance of music.

I love heavy metal music, but unfortunately that's not really a good genre to work out with, LOL
