Ever since I got my kitten, Psyche, my tom, Draco has been treating her like his own kitten! He showed very maternal tendencies with my sisters kitten before they moved out and now he's doing it towards Psyche. He'll clean her and play with her and even drag her around by the scruff of her neck; she's too big for that, but he does it anyway.
I was just wondering if anyone thinks this is wierd/abnormal behaviour or if he just really likes her? Has anyone else had something like this happen??

aww how cute! I have only heard of this a couple times, probably on here actually. But that is sweet. How old is the kitten? I hope the tom is neutered so he doesn't soon decide he wants to do more then just play with her!

The kitten is 13 weeks old, and my tom is about 1 year and 3/4. Yes, my tom is definitely neutered and my 10 year old queen is spayed, and we're getting the kitten spayed as soon as we can. ^_^

When the rescued kittens arrived, my tom adopted them too. I was told it is normal. Something about strong paternal instincts although not very common.

Well it's good to know that it's normal and happening with other moewmies! I was hoping he wasn't a little koo-koo or something like that. o_O
