Look at this guy! He is not possessed or mean at all. Just not too photogenic! I meet a woman who lives at a trailer park and told me that some people left behind a 12 year old cat two years ago and she has been sort of looking after him ever since. He stayed outdoors and she feared he would not make it thru another winter. He is slowing down, deaf and full of battle wounds. His left ear is missing and two of his fangs are cracked in half. He is beat. I was afraid he was semi feral because he only approached the woman who fed him. Well I snuck up behind him while eating since he is deaf and scruffed him and shoved him in a carrier. He put up a good fight and howled like a baby. But he is safe in my bathroom now. I was petting him and I cleaned his ears out a bit. The one that is missing is actually inflamed and all crunched down into his ear which is blocking it. So he may not be fully deaf, just needs his ears cleaned really well. I stuck a q-tip in the crunched ear and pulled out so much ear goop it was black and gross. He has to be full of worms, maybe heartworm, I wouldn't be suprised if he has FeLV or FIV. But as I was petting him his little paws are kneeding the blanket he is laying on and he started purring so hard!

Anyways, I was going to take him to Tiger Ranch tomorrow, and i think he will be best out there, with outdoor access and all. But part of me wants to keep him and clean him up and neuter and test him and see how he turns out. Like a little project. But I don't know. I really don't have the means to seperate him while he is recovering from years of drama on the streets.

Check him out, his name is Tyree. Doesn't he look possessed or something?
ooo I apologize for my nasty bathroom floor. It has been the cat room for a few weeks now and it sure got dirtier then I realized!

Poor boy. He's terrified in the first two pictures, but appears to be warming up in the third. YOu have done a kind act and the Tiger Ranch (a cat home?) sounds like it might be a good idea, since it may take a long time to rehab this boy.

My gosh... poor baby!! Have you got a vet visit scheduled, or does that happen once he's at this Tiger Ranch place? He might have to be sedated, but I bet he feels so much better emotionally, once he's healthy again. It's going to be a struggle getting medicine into him, though.

I bet he thinks "this is too good to be true" for a long time before he trusts people again... being abandoned like that can't be good for his kitty psyche. Idiot owners.

He's a beautiful cat, though. A bit the worse for wear, but still beautiful; and courageous, too, surviving on his own at the age of 12. He seems like such a fighter.

What's the Tiger Ranch? Is it a shelter?

He is actually a lot sweeter then he looks
He loves to be pet but only on his head and when he wants it. Tiger Ranch is a sanctuary and they take care of his vet needs and he is placed in an enclosure with other cats with indoor/outdoor access. It is a nice place. He will be better off there.

He is a bit freaked out in the first pictures. He didn't like the camera flash. I bet he has never had his picture taken before.

He's a beautiful guy. Poor thing is so scared in those first two pics. I just want to tell him that he'll be OK from now on.

Do you still have him or did you take him to Tiger Ranch?

OMG! The poor guy! You did & I'm sure you'll continue to do wonderful things! He looks like he could be a wonderful cat...if someone is willing to give him the time to teach him to love & trust people again.

He reminds me of some of the feral cats in our FIV cattery at FOHA. They hiss at you like nobody's business
. He looks rather sweet in the last pic though.

He's a lucky boy to be rescued.

12 isn't that old for cats anymore. My guys are 11 and 15 and they act and look 6! I know they are older though because we've had them for 11 years.
