Hehehehe, soooooo....who wants to help me be mischevious today and talk Colin into adopting Ruger!
Hehe, Ruger LOVES Colin and follows him around everywhere screaming for him- which always results in Colin picking him up to put him on his shoulder and sweet talking him. He's already confessed that he really likes Ruger because his personality is soo much like Jasmine's (Jasmine is Colin's favorite kitty). Colin just asked me a minute ago how much the adoption fee was for the kittens....and I told him what the fee was and that I could get him a "good dea"
if he wanted to adopt little Ruger. I think he is interested in adopting him, but just a little reluctant because he's never had a kitty before. He did say that Ruger and Fosters seem to be getting along really well.
I think Colin is worried about having to clean out a litter pan and a kitty scratching his furniture. I told Colin that between training him to use a scratching post and using soft claws, nails shouldn't be an issue and his furniture would be safe and sound
I also told him that i'd help out with the litter pan if he wanted to adopt him, or that he could invest in one of those fancy litter pans that cleans itself. He seemed really interested at that point....so maybe he'll think about adopting Ruger. If not, I would never force him into it because that's a life long committment that shouldn't be taken lightly or forced on someone- but I would love for him to consider it. Any ideas on conviencing Colin that adopting a kitty would be a great idea if he's ready.....what would you tell a guy to convience him that a kitty is right for him

in a pile of open toed shoes!
can you get Ruger really tired with TONS of play, and then conveniently let him fall asleep on Colin.
This is what won DH over with Louie. Tiny little Lou was so tired from playing, he crawled onto Daddy's lap and passed out, cold. Then I was there to tell him "awwww, he loves his daddy, he needed some "guy" time daddy, see?!" It worked like a charm...I also added "he feels so safe & secure with you, look how he's passed out?!"

What guy wouldn't want a little fluffy kitty to love him when he comes home! Adopt him Colin! You won't regret it! My brother went for years without any pets and finally got a little Himalayan kitty - he wouldn't part with Jada for the world now!

Dribble tuna oil on him and encourage the kitty to lick it off?

J/K!

Seriously, just point out that they get along really well and there's a bond. Acknowledge that it is a life time commitment, but that you think that if he feels he's ready, that he probably is.

It sounds to me like Colin has pretty well much made up his mind about it..............I would say you won't have to look for Rugger a home.

You should totally pull some cute trick like...put a big bow around Ruger and have him behind your back when colin gets home, and say Ruger told me he wants you for a daddy...in the sweetest most innocent voice...and then show him Ruger with the bow...

Who could resist that? Not me!
