Semi brave, I am brave but will double check the locks a few times for bed, but I have Bumper as an attack cat

edit: I keep my golf clubs in the bedroom and if something really freaked me out a club would be coming with me to investigate

I will check anything out. I have to know. It's better than not knowing.

I do feel safe cause I keep a hatchet under my mattress. It hasn't come in handy yet, but one day it might.

Ahh! Be careful!!! Someone I work with sliced his hand open with one of those and had to have the tendons in his fingers reattached!!

Plus it has a short handle- you should get an ax

If I'm with someone- like my friend Mel, I'm brave because she is scared of everything, ha ha!!

If I'm by myself I do alright, but if I start to think about it I will freak myself out. I have this vision of a really scary guy- I won't go into detail
- but I'm always afraid he is in the house with me or standing right behind me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just thinking the same thing! I don't want to have to get that close to my attacker if I can help it.

When I am in bed I just stay put and play opossum. Other times I will jump but never go to investigate.

I like to make myself feel better by thinking it is just the cat making noise.

I picked in the middle somewhere. It all depends on the noise that I hear and if I get worried about the kids safety. If I fear for them, LOOK OUT!!!
If it's only a screech owl, then I do get freaked out.

I picked semi-brave.

It depends on how tired I am. If I'm still semi-sleep walking, someone could come through with an axe and a poltergeist could tear through and I would still be too tired to care.

You sound like Amber. The first night I stayed over here ever (before the accident). I woke up to Amber crying somewhere far off. She was hiding in a corner swearing she saw someone in the house. It was herself in a mirror she had forgotten she moved,

How unusual---I'm exactly the same!

Hmmm, that's one more to add to the list of OCD-like traits of mine

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this mirror/window thing going on

I have got braver over the years since hubby has worked night shifts. However i dont watch any horror films before i go to bed anymore
that used to do it every time. And if the cats do that thing they do...you know the gazing up into the corner of the room thing........

As to anyone trying to break in...well i have a huge great samurai sword on the wall, there will be tears!

I picked "brave," but only because there wasn't a "stupid" category to choose from.
Even when I'm home alone and I hear a strange noise, it doesn't even occur to me that what I've heard could potentially be something (or someone) dangerous. I just get up and go investigate. Fortunately for me, it's almost always one of the cats doing something crazy.

Good luck breaking into my house late at night, though. It's dark and your eyes will be dazzled from the streetlights and the security light, there are cat toys and cat trees scattered across the hallway floor, everything valuable is shut in the living room behind a door barricaded with a large cat tree (to prevent the cats from pulling the french door open), and if you don't trip over a toy or a cat, you've got myself and my (rather tall and muscular) FI to contend with. And we have swords.

I admit it, I'm stupidly brave. I've confronted burglars, muggers, an angry Stevie and a stuck in the roof civet cat before!
And I do sleep armed with a knife nearby...
