Cat lying down whilst eating

My 5 yr cat has started lying down sometimes to drink and eat.....could she be just going through a phrase and is just being lazy? We've had her since she was 8 weeks old and has only started doing this the last month or so...she doesn't appear unwell, she's eating fine.
Just wondering what might cause her to suddenly do this.

Try putting the dishes up on something by about 4-5" and see what happens. If eating normally hurts her for some reason, you'll find out then, otherwise.. you have a funny cat!

My cat occasionally does that but I know of no reason, he is only seven months old. I do not think it has anything to do with being tired, but everything to do with just being a cat and doing what you please.

My 6 month old cat has been doing this for several months. He just flops himself down and looks comfy and pleased.
