Can this happen? Can a young cat teach an old cat new tricks?
My youngest cat, Gracie, now 2.5 years old, likes to play bite and then lick my hand. It's a little annoying, but as long as I keep my hand still, she doesn't bite hard and goes right into licking me.
Sheba, who was about 16 when I got Grace, never did either. But in the last year, Sheba has started to play bite and lick. It's only when she's extremely happy, like when she's getting a lot of scritchies and she's purring her little head off and rolling around on the bed. It's just so funny that for 17 years, she exhibitied neither of those behaviors, and now I have an 18 year old cat who acts like a kitten.
She never bites hard, barely a nibble, so it's not like it's a behavior I want to change. It makes me laugh to see her so happy and playful. She has CRF and heart disease, so seeing her act kitten-y is just wonderful.
I was just wondering if anyone else had any cats pick up behaviors from newer additions to the family.
