My husband left his bath water in the tub last night
and that is where we keep the kittens and mama with the door closed. He knows he has to keep the toilet seat down and to empty the tub because they can jump really high now.
and he didn't and one of the twins jumped in the bath water sometime during the night and when I woke up it was too late.

I feel really sick to my stomache and I'm so angry and sad at the same time.

What a horrible, awful tragedy, made even more painful because it could have been so easily avoided. I am sooooo sorry, IloveSiamese - I'm sending my hugs and prayers to you, that you heal from this as quickly as may be.

What a tragedy - I'm so sorry for the dear little kitten.

On the flip side, if my husband had a bath then went to bed and left the dirty, grimy water in the bathtub he'd certainly get a piece of my mind, especially if he expected me to put my hands in that cold, dirty water the next day to clean up after him.

So sorry to hear about your little kitten.

Unfortunately, accidents do happen, I hope you and your husband can come to terms with this.

I think bathtubs are just dangerous for young kittens. When my two Rainbow Bridge kittens were ill, we kept them seperated in the bathroom (to minimize spreading their illness). Well, one of them was able to jump into the tub (empty) at night, but couldn't get back out again and when I found him, he was freezing cold and barely alive, huddled at one end all by himself. He died later that day at the vet's office. After that I kept his sister in our half bath, with toilet seat covered. I don't think he would have lived anyway, but it breaks my heart to think that he had to spend the night alone, cold and sick in the tub.

Hugs to you and your family. The hurt will get better with time.

I am so sorry.

I think your DH made a mistake, but unless I felt he did it purposely, I think I would not make a big deal out of it. I can't imagine how bad he would feel knowing his actions caused the death of one of the kittens, that would be enough punishment in itself. (jmo of how I would handle it, but I am sure I would be really mad too) How sad all the way around.

I am so sorry to hear about this little baby drowning in the tub. I would hope that this would be enough to convince your DH to watch how he leaves the bathroom!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. That had to be a difficult thing to discover. I'm sure your husband must feel terrible. After you get beyond the anger and hurt from your loss, I pray that he has learned a lesson, and that you can forgive him.

I just feel like I'm a bad luck charm right now...like an animal murderer or something. I think sometimes I shouldn't have animals because they always seem to die around me

You know today was hard enough and then my MIL phoned and she's been taking care of our dog Gracie since our landlord wouldn't allow us to have dogs anymore and anyways she phoned and said Gracie tried to chase a cattle truck and it ran over her and she died....but the worse thing is, this happened 2 weeks ago and she only phoned to tell me today

Oh this day could not get any worse!

I don't know how to feel about my husband right now. He totally knows better and this was completely preventable but he feels sooooo terrible. I don't know. I'm just terribly upset and thank you for your well wishes.
