Kitten hasnt eaten since Bagheera went to the vets Friday night. At all nothing.
Amber is really worried about her she's walking around the house meowing all day long. She keeps going to Bagheeras favorite places and then snifing all over then going to the next one. Shes breaking our hearts. Any ideas on how to make things easier on her? Any ideas on getting her to eat? She wont even accept her favorite treats/

Try heating some wet food, to make it more appetizing. Is she drinking water?

It is REALLY bad for cats not to eat for over a day or two. Please make an appt for your cat to be seen by your vet asap.

I am so sorry your kitty is having a hard time.

Your cat needs to eat. In the health section of the website, not the forum there is an article on Hepatic Lipidosis. Please read it, the article will help you see the importance of cats eating and give you some tips as to how to spark the appetite. If your cat hasn't eaten anything since Friday, he needs a vet NOW.

I posted this in Behavior too but wanted to add some other stuff. Kitten hasnt eaten since Bagheera went to the vets Friday night. At all nothing. I got a call from my doctor today saying that I have to go in on Thursday for some xrays and to see how Im healing. He also said that I might be able to move around a little bit in a week if the xrays look good. I shouldnt have to worry since I have enough pins and plates in me that my pelvis should move even if I wanted it to.
Its been almost 2 weeks since I had my surgery. So this will be my judgement hour. If its showing signs of healing well I can change my position in bed. Right now I'm laying straight out with my head a little elevated. I'm not really suppossed to move anything that will move my bottom half. Its been almost a month since I got hurt. So I should be healing pretty well.

I wonder if Feliway would help? It's great for calming cats down, and this may help her settle.

Good luck with the doc's appointment, hope it goes well!

Well I guess Amber will have to take her to the vet today. Is it ok to make her eat some really watery food? Amber is an expert force feeder.

Have you tied tuna fish? If all else fails, then tuna usually get works.
I'm not sure how to keep her from mourning him though.
That's good news about you.Hopefully you can soon move around a bit!

I agree that maybe some Feliway might help. And tuna is a good idea as well.

Hope you have a good visit with the doc and get to move around some. I know it must be rough stuck in bed.

I had a kitten once that wouldn't eat and my vet gave him some kind of injection to stimulate his appetite. It worked and he started eating after it. So yes, take her to the vet.

I don't want to scare you, but she has to eat - she could go into liver failure if she doesn't. I think you should get her taken to the vet today, as she has already been without food for too long.

Best of luck at the doctor's office, and with your healing generally, both physically and from your recent loss.

Maybe you should celebrate Amber's birthday with some KFC - and offer Kitten some of the chicken - that might just do the trick to get her to eat again.
