Hi Guys
My mother recently moved to a town about 1000km's away from the place where she stayed for 16 years. She brought with her a 15 year-old male cat (spayed). He is very healthy for his age but does little more than sleeping in the sun.
Mother now lives in a townhouse complex where the houses are built relatively close together.
Most of the neighbours have cats. A particular problem is the 2 young spayed males from the house next door. These cats are used to "owning" the garden at the house where my mother and her grey-haired cat-friend now lives.
Her cat encountered the neighbouring 2 cats this evening and was chased and bullied quite badly by them. We are very concerned about our cat being chased away or being hurt during a fight when we may not be nearby to help him.
Do you have any suggestions to help us prevent the above from happening?

Henri

Keep the older cat indoors. The outdoors here is the younger cats' turf. Not that they should really be outside either. But they are--and your cat is the new kit on the block.

He will be much safer indoors, and if he gets a lot of attention from your mother, he will adjust.
