Cat Condos

Did you kitten eventually outgrow his/her cat condo? Bandit is a fairly large cat. He's 10mos old and weighs 13 pounds. Not a fat cat, just a big cat. He LOVES to sleep up high but the condo is getting a little tipsy and his big body doesn't quite fit on it as comfortably as it used to. Any thoughts or suggestions? I though about a window perch but the dog will still be able to reach him when they play .

I do not know what a cat condo is, do you have a picture?

I don't have a picture but if you google "cat condo", you'll get a ton of websites that sell them. It's like a treehouse for cats.

Oh, WOW. I better not let Persi see these pictures or he will be wanting me to go buy him one. I have a bunch of spare scraps of this and that in the garage and shed, perhaps I could make him something, other people here have.

Its great if you can build your own (my dad built ours), cause they are very expensive for the multistory ones which kitties love. I did see a kind of cool thing in Target the other day. Just 25 dollars and it uses those white plastic pipes and fabric to make a multistory play area.

The tip top of my condo would probably be tipsy if a 13 lb. cat was on it too. any possibility of removing the very top floor? or making it more stable somehow??

We made ours and our cats LOVE it!!! Blaze doesn't get on it because the kits are always on it.Corwin only weighs a little over 5 pounds,Lilly also weighs a bit over 5 pounds,Sapphire is a little over 3 pounds and last is Mia at a little over 2 punds. It holds up to them excellent!!!
If you can build your own, I say go for it.
We have about $35.00 in ours and it's a nice one!!!
