My cat likes to go outside and sometimes he gets lost or just wanders about. But today, he got out, but he came back several hours later surprisingly. When my boyfriend first grabbed him from outside he went and ran behind the washing machine and just sat reallly still. When I got him out from behind it, he bled a teeny tiny bit on my pants. He's now extremely lethargic, kind of like a ragdoll (and no, hes not a ragdoll breed). He has yet to open his eyes fully. He basically just squints whenever he opens his eyes. For the past several he has done nothing but lay on my bed, under my bed, or on my lap. He is breathing fine though, from what I can tell.

I am going to take him to the vet in the morning if he is not doing any better.

Sounds like he definately needs to go to the vet
Is he eating and drinking??

Do you allow him to go outside or does he sneak out? Any way you can just keep him inside? Poor guy, hope he feels better soon.

well, we used to let him out until one time he disappered for a couple days and I had to put up signs for him. Then he was returned and tends to sneak out now. I feel really bad for keeping him inside, but i have no other choice?

He ate like a bite or two of food and thats it

Oh my, can you tell where he is injured/where the blood came from? Are his eyes injured?

If he is that listless, I think it would be a good idea to have him seen before the morning.

no, i have no idea where the blood came from? it was a tiny amount and he is black so it is hard to tell.

and no, his eyes seem to be fine, he is just not opening them to their normal amount.

I agree that if there is an emergency vet in the area that it would be good to have him seen before hand. The wound may be minor, but something else may be wrong. He may have eaten something and got poisoned. If his behaviour is different than is usual and he is that listless, then I think he should be looked at by the vet much sooner than in the morning.

I agree you should get him to a vet asap. He may have internal injuries. Please don't wait to see how he is - get him checked over sooner rather than later.

I would not wait til morning. I would get him to a vet ASAP it could be an external, internal..or ingested problem. Only a vet will know for sure, and since he was out and you didnt know where he was you have no clue. Poor thing.

I would def. try to keep him inside. as well.

The cat might also have been bitten by a poisonous spider or snake. I hope he gets better, and also hope he stays inside from now on.
