Dear folks,
Just to share with you something that has deeply upset me in the al-Quada training tapes shown on CNN this week. The unecessary and terrible murder of those dogs --
I watched the dogs die -- in a perverse way, I thought I owed it to their memory, and perhaps to
understand the enemy better -- but I cried the whole time, and still hear the death cries of one of the
dogs. I do not understand such wickedness. I know it goes on -- that animal experiments are done in
clean, government-sanctioned labs all over the world. But the tape got me.
And I sincerely hope that it got most people world-wide. Not just as a condemnation of al-Qaeda, but of
all animal experiments in the end. We are nearing a time when we can do most of the final testing through computer simulations. Perhaps when humans reach a point of honest compassion for the animal and plant and inanimate environments, someone will finally make the development of simulated methods a priority.
Still upset....Catherine
