My one year old male tabby started vomiting this morning, and is still sick. the last time he ate was in the morning. It's night time, and no vets are open. Please help, I'm scared for him!!!!! Any advice would be great!

Are there any emergency vets in your area that you can call to get some help until your vet is open?

Also, what color is the vomit? Is if foamy? Can you check his mouth to see if there is something caught there?

He was throwing up food. Not foamy.....nothing in the mouth. I'm going to try to give him some water...

Ok, I know this probably sound funny, but if you can, get some strained baby meat, beef is great, and see if he will take in some of that. If he will, that should hold him until you can talk to your vet.

Think about whether this is just new or if he's been acting differently before this morning. Has he been drinking and using the litter box as usual, etc...prior to this vomiting. Did he get into anything like cleaning supplies?

Try to keep him encouraged. Don't act too alarmed around him. Keep him in and quiet and watch his litter box and food/water intake. Encourage him to drink water.

Often a vet's office will have a voice recording telling people who to call in case of emergency. If yours doesn't call another vet until you find one who does have that information on their voice mail. Usually they all do.

Unfortunately it is pretty expensive to go after hours but if you are concerned, do go for it. Let us know how it turns out. Hugs to you both.
