Hair not growing back after surgery

my cat had 3 lumps removed late septbemer (none were cancerous). his hair is not growing back in one of the sites. it is a large area on his back - and he has very thick hair. the other 2 places, the hair is growing back, but very slowly. does anyone know why this is happening - and if there is anything to do to help the hair grow back. thank you

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but can he lick the area? Do you have any other cats that may lick the area in question? If the hair grew back on the other spots, it seems funny that it is not growing back here.

Is he still on some kind of medications? But that would not explain why the other two grew in and this one didn't.

Honey, you have got me stumped. I suggest that you call the vet that removed the lumps and explain your situation to him/her and perhaps they can recommend something for your baby.

Is he on steroids? (Like did he receive a shot of a long-acting steroid?) This can cause hair to regrow slowly and patchy. If he's not on steroids, I'd give the vet a shout.

he is not on steriods now - but will check to see if he got a shot before the surgery. thank you.
