Also from a very small town in Kentucky, that used to be a big town when the Green river still had riverboats and such....in fact, all the town offices are still closed on Thursdays, so that everyone can go meet the riverboat at the landing...even though they closed the locks and dams in 1965, and the last riverboat, the Evansville, burned in 1938.Originally Posted by Tavia'smom
Okay I did this before but we have new members. So I wanted to know where everyone is from as it helps us get to know each other better.
I am from a very small town in Kentucky.
Where I live they had the mineral water and we have a river that actually borders what used to be the back portion of my farm and they sent canoes down it for trading and they went all the way to the Mississippi River. And the town next to me used to be huge because of the mineral water there are pictures of what it used to look like. And my dad remembers the hotel burning he said he came across the river to watch it burn. And I don't mind being backwards I kind of like my sleepy little town. I have been in a theater at Mammoth Cave. Watched a shakespeare play there. Its where I got my love for it. And they say that's where John Travolta started he followed a girl in and well the rest is history.Originally Posted by Skippymjp

If you are talking about where I think you're talking about, I live just a few miles from you. I live just outside the little community that used to have a mineral springs health resort, till it burned down.Originally Posted by Tavia'smom
