I just really need to share some great news and I knew you guys would appreciate it!!!
As you may know, my sister and I rescued some 1 week old kittens about 5 weeks ago. We made an arrangement with the OSPCA that we'd raise them till they are 6 weeks old and try to find good homes for them, then any ones left over would be logged in as "strays" and homes would be found.
I've been pretty nervous because I've had a lot of people say "oh maybe" and then not come through on the matter. My and my dad's friend Monica said she might take one, and I'm keeping one. Monica and her daughters came over a week ago to look at them, but I hadden't heard from her since. Today I just got an email saying that they're taking not one but two!!! I'm sooo thrilled! That means that only 2 of our litter are going to the shelter
Also, monica is an awsome owner, so I know they're going to a great family!
I'm so excited! Woopie!!!

That's wonderful....however, I am concerned that you are planning to place them at 6 weeks of age. Can you not hold onto them for a few more weeks?? Ideally kittens should be placed between 10-12 weeks of age.

Well, they'll be holding the ones at the OSPCA for longer because they're going through a couple of rounds of shots first. They just wanted us to get them stable. I offered to keep monicas for an extra couple of weeks, but the short answer is no. I'm moving come december, and we're doing what we can for these little guys. Also, from what I've read bottle babies tend to get placed earlier than ones with a mom.
