I have a female cat, indoor, named Kitty who is 13 years old. She is healthy, I am single, no children or other pets who toss her around. She acts herself, however, she has a limp after getting up on her rear leg after laying down for awhile. She still jumps up on stuff and walks fine after 10-12 steps. Somtimes I can see at random times what looks like it bothers her. I am beginning to think this is the beginning stages of Arthritis. Besides over the counter suppliments, what else should I do? Get her to the vet and get drugs for pain?

Thanks,

Brian

You should take her into the vet for an exam. They may perform some radiographs which will show signs of arthritis, and then she can be treated appropriately.

It does sound like she might have a little bit of arthritis. My 10yo cat started walking stiffly after getting up from a long nap and this was her diagnosis. In addition to stuff like SynFlex and Cosequin, you may want to provide her with a special kitty heating pad to lay on.
