I took off today cause the kits got fixed yesterday, obviously I can never be too careful
I scheduled some other stuff to be taken care of today too though. Since I work 7 days I take any excuse to schedule time off
I'm off all weekend too
3 days off, its like a mini-vacation

I was planning on taking the day off of work the day after Sydney's spay but she was doing so well there was no need, in less than 24 hours after her surgery we were chasing after her trying to get her to take it easy!

That's reassuring to hear. Hopefully Anya will do that well.

It depends.

If it's emergent, then yes.

If it's a spay I usually schedule it on a Friday and then go to work, pick her up after work and have 2 days at home with her.

But definitely if it's an emergency then I take a sick day for my baby
After all she's my family. They are my "kids"

I voted other as I'm fortunate that my work allows me to work from home. When Lucy had to have a shunt put in, I stayed home with her and watched her because we couldn't keep an e-collar on her. http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=102108 (miou <- Carly's comment on the post).

Though spending 3 days shut up in the room with a cat made me wonder about my sanity.

I took a few days off when Scully was scheduled for surgery on the lump we found a while back, luckily my boss is an animal lover (and even asked if I needed any help)

I'm a scaredy-meowmy
I took the day off for both Mica's and Sam's "alters"
and I probably will for Mala too.

I voted 'other'.

Pete works shifts and i work part-time. So its not very often that the cats are on their own all day.

But if i had to then the answer would be a definate 'yes'.

So far, I'm the only one who voted no. That was because I couldn't afford not to work. The vet had my work number; and numbers of other people incase trouble arouse.

I was regretful for doing it this way only once; I won't go into that.

i didn't vote 'no', but i've never had to make that choice. like i said - if it were for very long, i would have to go to work. & i left town when Mouse was ill - there was no point in staying, since she had to stay at the vet's. i couldn't be with her anyway. i'd've stayed in town otherwise.

Normally I don't, but the last time Patches was sick I did mainly for me. I work a twelve hour night shift and because of the appointment time and the lenghth of time we wete at the vet's, I got very little sleep. I called in sick for myself though. If I had called in and told them it was because my cat was sick, I never would have heard the end of it.

If Katie was very sick or had surgery I would take time off and I have taken time off to be with her; if I didn't I would horrible and I wouldn't be able to work at my optimum. I am always there for my fur baby.

I just called the vet and had them reschedule Anya's appointment to that Friday, December 1st so that I can drop her off that morning and pick her up on Saturday. My boss has been cranky lately about time off so I'm not pushing it with taking a day for Miss Anya...

I need a new job...
