Well, it is fate I guess. Hubby called on way home from golfing to say he was bringing home a stray. He is probably 4-5 months, yellow striped tabby with white feet, bob tail. Problem is it looks like something tried to kill it by biting his neck. Also has some problem with his bottom gum. He just came wandering out of the brush after meowing a few times. Staff at the course said an old mother cat used to live in the cart barn and had kittens, but they found her dead earlier and had no idea what happened to the kittens. I will take to the vet for antibiotics Monday and he may become Harley's new pal in the house. His name is Bagger.

Bless your hubby's heart! if kitty will tolerate it and you have betadine in your home, you could try washing out the wound with that. Poor Bagger, I am glad you husband has a soft heart for critters!

Yep,going to Wal-Mart later so I'll get some saline and Betadine or something. Best I have here is Derma Plast. He's eating and drinking well. I think he'll be fine. The other cats aren't even bothering with him much.

Bagger, as in Bagger Vance? Very appropriate name for this little guy! I hope he becomes healthy quickly!

He is definitely Bagger Vance! Thanks for the post. He is doing great, has put on a pound or two, the matte of hair on his neck is gone and only has one little sore left that is scabbed over. His mouth still isn't great, but looks much better. My vet is gone this week and I think, after speaking with his tech, his trip can wait until next week. Doesn't look like he will need antibiotics. He has already managed to come in the house today and had a look around. Thanks for the support and interest!
