One of my 6 babies seems to have this wierd pucker area where the umbilical cord is. They just turned 2 weeks on Monday and none of the siblings have the same mark. Could it be a hernia and what should I do, if anything at this time. I did call the vets office and they said it wasnt a worry at this time, unless it was oozing, etctec, and that maybe down the road it could present as one. Anyhow, just wondreing if anyone has had a similar exprience and can share. It is basically just a pucker mark where the cord was. TY in advance.

I once had a foster kitten with a pretty large umbilical hernia. It was able to be closed surgically when he was neutered at 12 weeks. It caused him no problems as a kitten. I have seen other kittens with the same problem. I agree with your vet, as long as the kitten is eating/drinking/pooping ok, and the site is clean, you probably don't have to worry about it until the kitten is spayed/neutered.

Just to second what scoomoo says. If the kitten is healthy in other respects, just get the vet to have a look when you bring him in for first checkup or vaccinations. It can be closed at the same time as spay/neuter surgery.

If at any point before then the kitten shows signs of distress (hunched, vomiting etc.) then it could be that a loop of intestine has become trapped in the hernia - if this does happen it is a medical emergency which requires immediate vet attention. However this is rare and the cat's pain and distress would be very obvious, so if all else is well do not worry
