There was a black and white cat that used to come by my house a few months ago but I havent seen it since my male cats chased it away when it came over to eat some food I put out. It used to come a few times but not since it got chased. Do they move to a new location if a male has taken over the territory?

Yes, usually they do - if there are any other alternatives.

One of my feral/strays has a route that he travels. He hits my house about once every two weeks or so, unless he gets hurt, then he comes to my house to recuperate and get food. My resident ferals are all fixed so there is no fighting, and they all share the food.

HI !!

i am on long island too. live in north babylon and work in melville.

what town are you in ?

i have 3 cats that were born and used to live outside.

one of them is my mamakitty. after i fixed, vaccinated and adopted
out all of her kittens and others in her colony, new cats moved into
the colony and started chasing her away.

i was sick for her because she had to sneak back on the property to
get some food when she thought they were not around.

so i ended up re-testing her and bringing her inside to live with me and
one of her sons.

so if you leave food out for a little while they probably will try to sneak
back to your property to get some food and water.

if you don't leave food out then the cat had to move on to try to find
some food and water some place else.
