The Houston mobile clinic will hold a free spay/neuter day for cats only on December 5, 2006. The Houston mobile clinic provides free spaying and neutering all year for those on government assistance. Through the generosity of a donor we will provide such surgeries to feline guardians who, while not qualified for government assistance, need financial help to obtain these needed services. No qualification is necessary. The event is being made possible with the kind assistance of Harris County Veterinary Public Health and with the support of the William and Evelyn Griffin Foundation and the Robert and Pearl Knox Foundation.

The mobile clinic will be stationed at the Harris County Veterinary Public Health facility at 612 Canino for this event. Cats will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so arrive as early as possible. (It is not unusual for people to begin arriving as early as 5 a.m. or even earlier.) The first to arrive should start a list to document the order of subsequent arrivals. The SNAP advance team will arrive at 7:30 a.m. Bring your cat in a carrier or a pillow case. Do NOT give your adult cat food or water after 10 p.m. the night before. You will be assigned a time to pick up your cat, and all cats will go home same day.

For more information call SNAP at 713-862-3863

Sounds like a much-needed operation!

Wishes of luck and God's blessings go to the Texas cats and their advocates, from an Ohioan cat lover who hopes all goes as planned.
