I remember when Ian spent 4 months travelling in Hungary, Poland and Croatia. It was especially hard since he was moving from Hostel to hostel and was even on a boat for a while. It really helps to write actual letters...and then send them to wherever he is in bunches. You can even just write down sentences here and there when you think of him...almost like a journal you both keep!

And Skype is definitely a good thing!

It's not easy, but sometimes little things like writing it down can help. Also, have him wear something tomorrow and then don't wash it, so it smells like him. Keep it in your pillow.

If you can, you can also keep a little tape recorder around and then ship the little tapes of each other talking to each other.

You will both be ok and as some say, absence makes the heart grow fonder!

When you need to talk... all us TCSers will be here to give you hugs and cuddles!

Hey Ya'll! Here is an update! Lee left Friday evening. I held up ok the whole ride home until I hit our front door. Then I boohoo cried until I couldn't breathe. That was on and off while everyone called to check on me. I would be fine until they mentioned his name and then I couldn't breathe again!
Well we have talked a whole lot this weekend. He is absolutely miserable and isn't sure if he is going to stay.

The job isn't turning out like he had expected. He was told that he would most likely be working 1st shift when he accepted the job. When he got there he talked to another guy that works there and was told that he would be working swing shifts. 6am to 6pm for 28 days and 6pm and 6am for 28 days. Lee said he won't do it. So he went into work this morning to see how he liked the job and will be deciding today if he is going to keep the job or come back home.

I hope he sticks it out. He needs the security of this company and he has so much opportunity to move up in the company as well. We will see how things go and i will let you all know as soon as I find out!!

Thanks for all the support!!!

I'm sorry to hear that Lee isn't enjoying his job
I'm sure it's more of the fact that everything is so foreign to him in a new country and missing you is only making it worse.

I'm sending him lots of "hang in there Lee" vibes to him!

Saturday was aweful for him. They poor guy cried so much and slept so little. He was calling at all hours just to talk. Sunday he was better. He was feeling better about being there just the job isn't what he expected. He is deciding today but I think he should give it a full week.

As hard is it is on you, we forget about the people leaving, how hard it is on them. Not only are they seperated from their loved ones and away from home, but also have to start a new job, which in itself is hard for me. I hope things work out for him though because it sounds like a great company......

Lee made up his mind. He is coming home. He decided that all the money in the world isn't enough to make him happy away from his loved ones. They are working on booking his flight back home. I can't wait for him to get here!

Wow, he made up his mind pretty quick! I thought he would at least give it a week, but if you know you aren't going to be happy, at least he's coming home and not making himself sad by staying there!
I bet your going to be happy to see him!
