If you'd gone further down the page and checked through the links, you would have found the answer to Chinchilla under silver and golden: they are white with black tipping ONLY and there is a picture on the page that liiustrates the coloration.

American standards do not use pewter as a descriptor of color. I believe that pewter is used as a descriptor in Britain, though.

Edited to add: here is another site...

http://users.skynet.be/persan.pewter...r_breeding.htm

This explains what pewter persians are and the difficulty in getting them accepted as a breed standard in Europe. I expect that this color standadrd has not been accepted by the American Cat Fanciers.

to The Dreaded Tum: you wrote that "Chinchilla under silver and golden: they are white with black tipping ONLY" but what about the chinchilla gold? is it also white with black tipping? and in CFA they write that SHELL CAMEO is Red Chinchilla and SHELL CREAM is Cream Chinchilla . that means that chinchilla is not only white with black tipping.

in one of the links above it's written:
BLUE SHADED SILVER = GREEN-EYED BLUE SHADED
BLUE SHADED PEWTER = ORANGE-EYED BLUE SHADED
that means pewter = shaded with a different eye color.

but in other link it's written: "the mantle and tipping of a Pewter is heavier than a Shaded Silver".

so, pewter is shaded or not?

Did you ever find the answer to your question? I have a new addition that I've been trying to determine exactly what his official coloring is...
