Her future meowmy emailed me yesterday to say she's not sure if this is a good time to take Smudge now
Her kitty who she only adopted recently has been throwing up, and having diarrhea, and has been getting all sorts of tests, but they can't find out what's wrong with him yet
So not only does she not want to bring a new kitten into the house in case it's something her kitty can pass on, but she doesn't want to cause any potential stress to him while he's not well, and the tests are costing her a fortune, and she doesn't want the extra financial burden of another cat until her boy is all better.
Poor thing was so upset because she fell in love with Smudge straight away, and she's so worried about her boy.
I told her Smudge has another 2 weeks with us, so she doesn't have to decide right away, but if she does decide not to take her, to let me know so I can try to get her a new home.
Good news though, I took Smudge into the vet yesterday and she's at 2lb 7oz now! And the vet was so pleased at her progress, and couldn't believe it's the same kitten! There was a dog in the clinic as well barking it's head off at Smudge, who was just snuggled up in my arms purring away contentedly
The vet said to take Smudge back in 2 weeks, and she'll probably go see a feline opthalmologist to look at her eyes, and then they'll decide whether she'll need surgery, and if so, when she can have it.
