*sob* That's so sad!!! I remember being about 5 and watching it with my grandma while she watched me for my mom. I've loved it ever since!

Two of my daughters and I went to see the show being taped several years ago.
Although we were not chosen to "come on down"....
we had a ball.

Goodbye Bob....
you will be missed.

So we all knew it would happen but I grew up with him hosting that show! I remember me and my mom sitting on the couch watching it eating butter crackers before I started kindergarten, It will be sad to see the show with out him!

in a pile of open toed shoes!
it is sad, but he is well over due for R&R....he has enough $ to have been enjoying his time & family for awhile now, and has kept on working. Good for him. I hope he enjoys his retirement! We'll miss you Bob, and "Don't forget to Spay & Neuter your pets!!!"

I think it's wonderful that he will be working for animal causes after he retires.

A lot of the residents at the nursing home where I work love that show and watch it faithfully every day! The article said they are looking for a replacement, but I really don't think Bob Barker is replaceable...he's too much a part of that show!!!!!

Sigh.... Another one of my childhood memories retiring. He deserves it. May he have as much fun in retirement as he did on the show. He probably will his quotes in that article are a hoot.

He said he wanted to retire while he was still young I guess you are as old as you feel. But he helped to start the spay and neuter movement and helped people atleast consider it. And he is such a part of our childhood memories I can't imagine him not being on there.

I saw on the news today that Bob Barker who always says "be sure to spay & neuter you pets" at the end of his shows...
quit as host of the Miss America pageant because the contestants wore fur coats.
He not only loves animals he fights for their welfare.
