What a pain...

Someone we know's 30th birthday is today. So they've organised a big shindig tonight to celebrate her birthday.

On a Monday night. Starting at 9pm. And dress code is "club/dinner wear". Who wants to get dressed up at 9pm on a MONDAY night to go out

I certainly don't, especially since I've got study to do, and am still feeling a bit sore and sorry for myself post surgery. DH said we'd go though, and feels as though we should make an appearance...

I would only go if you feel like it

What if I really don't feel like it, but DH really feels as though we should make an appearance, and won't go on his own?

I'm with Nikki, I would only go if you feel like it. Don't go if you don't want to.

DH would be a little annoyed if I said right now (15 minutes before we're due to leave) that I wasn't going. I'll grin and bear it and make an early exit.

well i guess its too late for me to reply now, but i would just go for an hour and then leave

Go for a few minutes- make your apperance if DH really wants to go - then cut out early

As it turns out, it was quite good... The girl is in a dance group, so they had a live band, and heaps of her dancing friends were there - swing, jazz, rumba - all different types of dance apparently.

And her little dance troupe did a couple of performances and were excellent! If only it wasn't on a school night I would have quite happily stayed for a lot longer.
