I think they used stencils. That's what I used on ours. We did the Grim Reaper who got a dose of his own medicine tonight. We came home and he was all slumped over, looking pitiful and begging to be put out of his misery
I think I paid around $3-$4 for the stencil book for carving pumpkins at Walmart

A hah!!! So not seriously talented then, just really, really good with a knife!
