I went to work this morning and I had a really bad headache and was throwing up and the charge nurse told me to go home. SHe said she did not want me around the residents. So I walked to my aunts house and called my sister to come get me and she brung me home I was going to go to her house but I didn't want to make my niece Kaylee sick just incase it was a virus. But I still kind of think it was my sinuses. I get sinuse infections this time of the year. Well I came home and I went to bed and slept till about 30 minutes ago. And I am feeling better but still not too well. Tavia, Lilly, Macy, and Tiny all came into my room and snuggled with me. I think they new that I needed it. I must look silly with three dogs and a cat in my bed. But I never feel more loved then I do when they all decide to snuggle because Tiny never snuggles with me.

Sounds like a migraine headache. I get those sometimes and they're wicked! Get some rest and I hope you get better soon!

You're fortunate that there is enough staff that they could afford to send you home. Here we're so short staffed that they would hand you some Tylenol and a box of face masks and tell you to carry on. Literally! I've come to the conclusion that here you won't even get sent home if you drop dead on the job. LOL

One year I had shingles. It was localized but still contagious to those who had never had chicken pox. I was asked if there was anyway I could cover the lesions! They were on my side and my leg so I bandaged myself up to keep them covered and went right on working.

Back in 2004 my grandmother died. I had found out not long after my shift started and because we were short staffed already I had to work the whole shift. I was a crying mess the whole day.

The last time I got sick at work was the same company but a different facility and my charge nurse told me you really don't need to be here but I can't afford to send you home. And I was vomitting like every 5 to 10 minutes literally. I still don't know how I stayed. And the day after that all of the patients on my hall were sick. I am just hoping that I can't get in trouble since my boss was the one who sent me home.
