Hi,
This is my cat first litter and she only had one kitten. The mom has seemed to have dried up and The kitten is now shaking and i don't know how long she has been dried up Because I just noticed today that she hasn't eaten at all. Can any body help me with any info on what I can do for this poor little guy

you need to make sure that baby is warm near mom and get some KMR into the kitten immediatly KMR is kitten replacement milk you can get it at petco or petsmart a vets office or maybe even a local pet store

Is she shaking, or is it just the shaky walk of a young kitten? The momcat may not appear to have much milk with only one baby nursing.

If she really isn't getting milk from the mom, the replacement formula is best. Also, at 4 weeks, she is just about ready for canned kitten food, or moistened dry kitten food. Offer her some of that.

Welcome Bev....how's mom doing?? Is the kitten still nursing off mom?? It's true that with 1 kitten...mom doesn't need to produce as much milk. I would have KMR on hand in case the kitten isn't able to feed.

My second litter of kittens are 4.5 weeks old and some of them have already (on their own) started eating their mama's kitten food that has fallen into her water.

I would just monitor the situation by watching to see if the kitten is trying to feed and also by taking his/her weight daily to ensure he/she is gaining weight...which, to me, would indicate that she/he is recieving nurtrition. If not, I woud suggest getting some KRM.

Goodluck and keep us posted!
