The bad news first!!
Neil decided to tell me after the turkey was in the oven that he is going (already left) with a friend to see Flags of Our Fathers!!. There goes all the fixin's with the turkey.
We sampled it standing by the stove and I had instant mashed potatoes!

Its pretty good!!! The breast meat does seem more moist-I think a better test will be tomorrow as oof course there is ALOT OF LEFTOVERS!!
So where am I going to store the turkey tonite as my :censor::censor::censor::censor: is FULL!!???? Back into the food grade pail to sit outside until I go to bed and then in the garage-thank goodness it gets to the low 30's (hmmm might actually have to be in my potting shed as it will be a bit cooler in there!!)
I would do this again-perhaps to add a bit more water and dilute the salt brine a little bit more-if anyone buys those rotisserie chickens in the deli-it reminded me alot like that!!

Glad it turned out tasty! Shame about the fixin's!
I was thinking of trying this with just a turkey breast, and slow cooking it. Or would it be tastier roasted?

Sorry - I must have missed the first thread. What the heck is turkey brining - it sounds interesting! I love turkey, and love to cook, so am always looking for innovative ways to serve same old, same old!
