Frances...that is great news...just make sure you follow up to ensure that the kittens are spayed/neutered by their new owners. I would also recommend placing them when they are between 10-12 weeks of age as opposed to 7/8 weeks of age. Now is also the perfect time to set up a spay appt. for momma.

Hope all is well. Boo did this also but without the smell. I wait 6 days and almost lost all the babies and my baby girl. And YES, even to the surgery table the babies were kicking and moving fine but Boo out of no where got very tire. Please GO TO THE VET. Finally I listened to my heart and ran Boo in to the vet and she had a immediate emergency c-section and spay. Please bring in your baby and when you can get back to us all. All our prayers are with you and your mama cat.

Just make sure you take her in as soon as she is out of heat...there is no point even risking another pregnancy.

Oh..and could you resize your photos?? They are awfully big and for those members on dial up..could significantly slow the time that they can open the page.

I THINK, that as long as you wear gloves and wash your hands rigth away after, you will be alright.

Everything I've read says that too, make sure you wash your hands really well after.
You should probably check with your Dr. if you have one.

I have four kids and have always changed the litter box when I was pregnant.
My Doctor told me that as long as I didn't touch the contents of the litter box and washed my hands very well afterwards that the baby would be fine and all four of them are.

But, like the others have said check with your own Doctor first.

another quick question i know that everytime a dog gets groomed they have there anal glands emptied, do cats need that done as well? ever since ginger had her babies her litter box reeks you can smell it on all three levels of our house so i was just woundering if that is an option. thanks.

I don't know if it's something that "needs" to be done everytime they're at the groomers, but I do know that I had to have Gracie's done one time.
The litter box smell wasn't what alerted me to something wrong, it was the fact that she started dragging her little butt across the carpet.
I took her to the Vet, I thought maybe she had worms but it turns out that the problem was her anal gland.
The Vet took care of it and it hasn't been a problem since.
