Please help..

Today in the morning I let my cat out and I heard a loud mew a little later on. As if he got hurt or something. My dad let the cat in and he started mewing alot. I noticed that his tail wasn't up as usual. It bent down at around the halfway point. I touched his tail and he mewed louder. This is when I thought maybe he had a broken tail Is it ok to just wait it out to see what happens or should I take him to the vet? He looks like he could be in somesort of pain.. I don't know how he could have broken it though.. Maybe a car ran it over? I don't know. Anyone have some advise?

Honey, just to be on the safe side, call your vet and explain what you think happened.

You don't want your baby in pain, so if they want to see him/her, can you get your baby there?

Ya, I could get him there. I'll call this afternoon after work.. I hope it's nothing too serious though. He's been scratching everything she sees this morning too after this happened. He normally doesn't do that.
