Does anyone use this litter? Has anyone noticed the SMELL? I started using it for Ceci a few days after I got her, and at first I loved the smell, such a clean smell. Not to mention the litter is the god of all clumping litters, it clumps like a rock!

But now that smell is starting to get to me, it makes me want to gag. When I open the front door I can smell the litter, and its not the box itself but the smell of the litter.

I was thinking of switching...again to Cats Pride. Does this clump, and does it not stink? Cats Pride was actually my first choice because its a bit more economical but it didnt say if it was clumping, and I ended up with a horrible first litter because it was cheap.

Please help, the smell is driving me mad!

Just switch from the Fresh Scent to the unscented version - that should make a difference.

Personally, I love coming in and smelling the "fresh scent." SO much better than coming in to the smell of Ferris' latest creation!

Are you talking about the Arm & Hammer "High Performance" new natural litter? I picked a bag on sale when I couldn't find WBCL and had to wait. I almost fell over the smell was so strong - it wasn't bad exactly, but I don't like scented litter - period. I really can't stand it even though it seems like a good litter - I won't be getting it again. I am mixing it with the WBCL to stretch it, but I really hate cleaning the box.

I could not stand the smell of this litter and neither could Gizmo. She didn't even want to touch it.
You might try an unscented variety, but I can certainly recommend an organic, flushable brand.

I had the same reaction. At first, it was "Oh, this smells so nice" then it gagged me.

I didn't find it clumped all that well, either. I have a cat in renal failure who gets fluid treatments, so she pees a LOT at a time, and it just turns to globs of clay. The tiny little golf-ball sized clumps from the younger cats are fine, just not Sheba's half-a-human-brain-sized clumps.

Of all that I've tried, Scoop Away clumps the hardest. You could throw these things through someone's window... if you were so inclined and hated someone enough, I suppose.

I couldn't stand the smell of Arm & Hammer. I was very dissapointed with it...seeing as to how they (Arm & Hammer) usually have the best stuff to remove odor and keep things fresh. I've used just about every kind of litter, and the only one I really like is Fresh Step....If you've tried it in the past- it's totally different now! The odor eliminating carbon makes a HUGE difference!
Much fresher! Clumps good too.
