Ophelia attacked dad yesterday. I was given 3 options.
1)euthanize her
2)get rid of her
3)make it safe to live around her

So, I called the vet...the only vet who hasn't refused to treat Ophelia's aggression. I just don't understand her. She lashes out at Lily all the time, & Lily doesn't even have to do anything(Lily automatically runs, hisses, & jumps on the counter when she sees Ophelia). Lily used to be accepting of new cats, but because of all Ophelia's attacks, she doesn't trust other kitties anymore. Lily shouldn't have to live in fear.
Ophelia beat on Dorian yesterday, & he's her best friend. She can peacefully co-exist with Damita, but because one's blind/one's deaf, they don't relate really well. Ophelia & Twitch get along rather well, mostly because they don't seem to realize the other cat is there(Twitch sleeps all the time).

Keep your fingers crossed that something can be worked out. I've got nowhere to go with her, unless I start looking for no-kill rescues....and I don't wanna think about that. I feel I have one option-treat her. We'll go from there. I swear to god, though, this cat is gonna send me to my grave early. She bounces from one extreme in her personality to another. The hardest thing is that I can see what a wonderful cat she is, she snuggles right by my pillow everynight to sleep...purring contentedly....

That's the thing that gets me...I've done everything suggested there. I have that printed out & saved on the computer. With her latest behavior, I wonder if she has something physically wrong.

If you feel that it is necessary, just on a short-time basis, you may want to ask your vet for some tranquilizers.

She may just be so overloaded, that her brain is in rapid-fire and maybe even she doesn't know why.

A couple of weeks of soothing medication may be just what she needs to break this cycle.
