Obsesive Kneading

Hi all! I havent been on these forums in a long time but I thought maybe I should post this issue here and see what your thoughts are.

My wonderfull cat Sakura used to like my hands/face constantly when she was being cuddly to a point that her rough toungue would start to hurt. I worked with her for a long time to get her to stop this behaviour but now she has replaced with kneading. She kneads my neck for hours on end and my neck get red and sore from this. I dont even have to pet her anymore and she starts up. Sometimes when im trying to sleep she wakes me up even.

Any suggestions on how to get her to relax this behaviour at all?

She loves you and thinks you are her mommy.
Gizmo does the same with me. I let her do it since I know that she is happy.
If Gizzy is sitting on my chest (which hurts) I gently roll to the side and she slips off. But I let her knead my right shoulder whenever she wants to; that's how I know she's happy and feeling good.

You are very fortunate to have such a happy cat! but if you want something to stop, just change positions and the cat will get the idea.
