Dear Best Friends Member,
We were recently contacted by Tiffany in Olympia, Washington regarding three cats that reside on her property. Tiffany is moving in less than two weeks and the new owners of the house want the cats gone. This family of three have not been spayed/neutered and sound to be feral cats.
Though feral cats are best left on their home turf, there are some situations where the cats are in danger of being harmed by someone who does not want them there. It's always worth trying to negotiate a trap/neuter/return program, but in this case relocation will be necessary.
Alley Cat Allies has an excellent resource section on its website that includes fact sheets on topics such as safely relocating feral cats. See the relocation fact sheet at this link, http://www.alleycat.org/pdf/relocate.pdf. Two other resources - a sample barn cat flyer and a helpful Q&A, can be found in the section “Moving Feral Cats†on the main page of the resources section, at this link: http://www.alleycat.org/resources_care.html#7
Visit the following link or call 1-888-PETS911 for low cost or free spay/neuter resources in your area: http://www.pets911.com
If you or someone you know has a safe relocation spot for these three, please contact Tiffany directly at: [email protected]
Thank you for your continued support Members!
