Yes, a year ago we finally brought this calico stray into our home. I thought she belonged to the new neighbors but she kept staying and was sleeping in our garage.
We came home from a meeting on this cold blustery night and saw the garage door had been shut. That meant it was stuck. Topaz followed us onto the porch and we finally decided to bring her in.
She bolted straight down into the basement, coming up only for meals. But after 3 weeks she moved onto Mom's bed and decided she liked it there. (A month later she calmly sat and watched the EMTs as they treated her for low blood sugar.)
It was only after I came home from my hospital stay in May that she decided to allow me to pet her and she started sleeping with me. Before she merely tolerated me because I was the one who opened the cat food cans.
It's been an interesting year watching her and Aristotle interact, but I think he's brought out the kitten in her and you never know when she will surprise ambush him!
I wish I had more pics, but she runs from the camera. I think she might be in the kitty version of the witness protection program.
