I just have to vent...literally

Is it hot where you are at???
Well, Ireland has a temperate climate anyway, but it is on the warm side for the end of October.

I think that's why they call it global "warming".

Ok, it is 4:30 am and it is already 64!!! It is said to be mid 80s and maybe 90s again. Actually, it is going to be like this the WHOLE week
.

California has no climate. It is almost the same through out the year. It would be nice to have some reasons sometimes......

We have had a much cooler than normal fall so far. The high temp are about 15 degrees below normal. Today it might warm up to 45F. We have been lighting fires in the wood stove daily now-haven't even hauled in the wood for the winter yet (we will start this weekend)just bringing a cart load or too and stacking it outside.
But I also read somewhere that a cooler fall might mean a warmer winter??

We have 2 major seasons here in Cali: Dry season and rainy season. Trust me, it will cool down this winter to daytime highs in the low 60's, and nightime lows in the low 50's and upper 40's. I just HATE it when it gets that cold. I don't mind the temps we're having right now. It's not as bad as it was this past summer when it was extremely humid and temps in the upper 90's to the 100's.

Typical English weather here, Lots of rain and its freezing cold. It feels like December. Sat here with woolly jumper on and heating on full blast.
I want some sun. What, with your posh flavoured ice-cream and sunny hot weather i'm begining to get jealous

I would say 80 % or even 90% dry weather and 10-20% rainy season, except for el nino season. I remember last year around Christmas week, it was 80s !!!! Did not feel like Christmas or even winter. I really don't mind the 40s, love it. I really hope it will get 60s in the day time. I guess if you are in LA area, it is cooler. I am in inland empire and it is HOT.

We live in the same state, we don't even have the same weather! We are about 30-40 miles apart and about every 10-15 miles the temperature can drop as much as 5-10 degrees, especially during the summer.

I have to agree with you, humidity and heat do not mix well.....

I think you have cooler weather in the winter, in the Inland Empire than we have in Los Angeles. You have more dramatic changes in the weather than we do. You also get ALOT more rain, and storms out there. By the way, this year we're supposed to have an El Nino, so we should get more rain this winter.

It's often 80 degrees at Christmas. We don't usually get the cooler weather until later in January and February. Last winter was an unusually dry winter, by the way. But I agree the real heavy duty rain is usually only during a couple of months.

Also compare Southern California to Northern California. It's pretty chilly up in the Bay area year round. The get about 3 times as much rain as we get down here, and only a few days of really warm weather. You can wear a jacket year round up there.
