I just got back from 2 weeks in Greece and Turkey and spent half my vacation feeding and playing with all the stray animals there. Their stray population is out of control!! It was so sad.

I started a website about it at: http://helptheanimalsingreeceandturkey.blogspot.com/

There are pictures of a bunch of the cats and dogs and links to organizations where you can donate to help the animals.

Thank you!!

And any feedback on the website would be appreciated since it's a work in progress.

Spain and Italy had a over population of stray animals.
I think they are getting it under control now.
The most heart breaking part is that in Italy they captured thousands of kitties a few years ago and put them to sleep.

How sad for the poor animals.
The cats and dogs in the pictures on your site are beautiful and sad at the same time. As you say some of these animals would make wonderful pets with a little love and attention.

Seven pics down where you are cuddling with the little dilute torbie has to be one of the sweetest and saddest pics I've seen in a while. That honestly touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful site, I wish you the best of luck with it!

Bless you for caring for those poor animals. On my vacations, I too, have encountered the many homeless cats who have been cast-off by their humans. My honeymoon trip around Tennessee, staying in campgrounds, was by far the worst. At Boone state park, there was a starving, BEAUTIFUL, calico cat with unweaned kittens - due to a glitch with my bank, my ATM card got mistakenly locked up (overzealous credit protection
), and the best I could do for her was to give her my can of Spam, and in the morning, scrambled my last 2 eggs for her & the kits. The park rangers did take a report to pass on to the Humane Society, but said that animals get dumped off all the time, esp, if they are preggers
, and that the HS is pretty much overwhelmed just dealing with the town's animal overpopulation crisis. So sad

Sending lots of {{{prayers and vibes}}} that your efforts bring excellent results from all over the world.
Susan
