I don't know if this is the place to post this.
Many people have to give up their pets as they often cannot find rental's places that accept pets. The local humane association gave a good idea.
Develop a pet resume for each of your pets. This would include photos, copy of vet records showing up to date on shots and spayed/nuetered. If a dog, certificates from training classes. And a recommendation from prior landlords.
I thought this seemed like a very good idea so I thought I would share.

What a great idea!! I am currently considering a tenant that has 2 dogs and considering the great disparity of dog/owner behaviors, asked about the dogs - one is elderly, fond of cats and children, the other is a litte boy's chihuahua. I feel that these dogs will not be problem dogs; not digging holes; excessive barking; escaping and harrassing neighbors. Maybe the mods could move this into the Lounge where it prob.will get more notice. It's a wonderful idea!

I'd get a letter from your previous landlord/landlady stating that the pet is not destructive or noisy. Nothing that you write yourself would carry as much weight with a prospective landlord.

My current landlady told me cats were okay, so I got a cat. The landlady knows Gizmo well and is aware that she is (mostly) quiet and very neat. I'm going to be sure to get my 'cat referral' from her before i move.
