so my 16 month old cat, sgt. bradley mcbagpipes (half tabby have siamese) recently moved from my old house in victoria, BC to a new area only about 25 minutes walk away (maybe 4kilometres?) with me back on september 1st.
he was the only cat living in the house with me at the old address, though now that we're living with my girlfriend and her cat, boo, things are getting hairy.
the two cats get along relatively well enough now, sometimes hissing and making noises, but no fights and we're able to keep them in the house together if we go out and they're both sleeping.
but the problem is, at the old house sgt. bradley was an outdoor cat, and upon moving we kept him indoors for a few weeks to keep him aware that this is his new home, but he still goes all the way back (crossing three quite busy major downtown roads) to the other house! since the middle of september he's gone back eight or nine times and its just become such a bother to go and get him all the time, we wish he'd just understand that this was his new home.
any suggestions? please! he seems to be okay to wander around our new place during the day, but once the sun starts to head away and it begins to get darker out is when he gets it in him to try and get all the way back home. despite our efforts in bringing him in before it gets dark he still sometimes sneaks away only to be brought back a couple days later. he is neutered.
